Characteristics and use of Jojoba oil
In short
Organic Jojoba oil is the cosmetic oil par excellence!
Tolerated by all areas of the body, it can be used daily and can be easily integrated into your beauty routine. Its main advantage in my eyes: it does not leave a greasy film.
If I had to use only one oil, it would be this one! Face, body and hair, I use it all the time.
It is suitable for all skin and hair types. It’s also a great base for making DIY homemade cosmetics. Its great stability allows it to be kept for almost 10 years and to be combined easily.
It is therefore an essential oil to have in your bathroom! (But not in the kitchen; it is not edible...)
Its benefits
Now let's take a quick tour of its properties:
• Regulator of skin PH
• Sebum regulator for skin and hair
• Healing, regenerating
• Anti-inflammatory and anti-infectious skin
• Non-occlusive; it does not clog pores
• Softening, fluid, penetrating and moisturizing
What does it mean?
It resembles sebum and is therefore very well assimilated by the epidermis. It regulates the production of sebum ► very interesting for oily and acne-prone skin.
It nourishes, soothes and protects from external aggressions ► sensitive skin, redness, irritation, scars.
Anti-aging and firming ► it helps slow down the aging of the skin.
Very penetrating, it softens and nourishes the skin ► without leaving a greasy film.
Sebo-regulating ►it rebalances oily hair
It deeply repairs and nourishes dry, dull and brittle hair ► brings shine, strength and suppleness.
It protects them from the sun ► SPF 5
Use
○ Some uses for face;
Jojoba oil can be used as a daily moisturizer alone or mixed with your day cream.
To remove makeup, pour a little oil onto a cotton pad then massage your face. Then rinse with lukewarm water.
To slow down aging, massage your skin with a few drops of Jojoba oil every evening.
Against acne: wash your hands well before taking a few drops of Jojoba oil. Gently massage the skin with your fingertips for 1-2 minutes (focus on areas affected by acne). Leave on all night.
○ For the body ,
In massage, it hydrates the whole body.
Against stretch marks and scars, massage the affected areas twice a day.
○ For dry and fine hair
You can add a few drops of Jojoba oil to your shampoo.
It can also be used as a mask: massage your damp hair with circular movements then leave for 15 to 20 minutes before using your usual shampoo.
You can also do an oil bath by massaging your hair to distribute the oil throughout your hair. Then leave it on for at least an hour (or overnight) before shampooing.
○ For oily hair or dandruff
Two to three times a week, massage your scalp at the base with a few drops of oil. Leave it on for 15 minutes and do your usual shampoo.
To remember
Although it adapts to everyone, its effectiveness is maximum:
▬ On oily hair
▬ On oily, combination skin
▬ Against acne
▬ In cleansing oil
Jojoba oil is best stored away from light (the bottle is often tinted). Exposure to cold or heat does not alter its properties. It can be kept for 10 years.
Very well tolerated, it is suitable for everyone: including babies, pregnant and breastfeeding women.
